The SoundSations would like to introduce themselves to you. Take a moment to read about the band members.

Jack Decker, Band LeaderDrums / Band Leader / Entertainment Director - 40 Years

Jack started playing at the age of 21 in Kansas City, MO in the Country Music field, playing with Roy Clark, Dave Duddly and more!

After moving to Texas for several years, he found himself back in Missouri 1984 and formed the country band, The Nighthawks.

Jack is the entertainment director, band leader, and drummer for the SoundSations. Jack comments, "No! I'm not too old!"

Lou ColbeUpright Bass - 44 Years

Lou Started playing bass in 1959. He played in the Houston - Dallas several years. He performed in Las Vegas for 38 years performing in numerous shows, such as Dean Martin, Sonny & Cher, Kay Starr, Johhny Desmond, and more!

Currently Lou lives in Branson and works full time with The SoundSations and various Branson show groups.

Chuck Mahaffey - TrombonistTrombone - 44 Years

Chuck has a BS and MS degree in music from Southwest Missouri State University and is a retired band director from Springfield, Missouri Public Schools-28 years.

Currently is private studio instructor in low brass and jazz studies Gives clinics and judges music festivals throughout Missouri.

Chuck has played all over the world and has performed with: Forrest Wasson Orchestra; Springfield Symphony; Missouri 135 Army National Guard Band; Springfield Little Theatre; Yesterday's Wine; Jazz Cats; Tom Jones; Billy Joe Royal; Sid Caesar; Dianne Carroll; Holiday On Ice; Dorsey Brothers: and numerous small jazz groups.

Andy O'Berg - KeyboardsKeyboards

Andy, a native Kansas kid, was inspired by his mother's piano playing, and started playing keyboards in a rock band at the age of 15.

He's played professionally ever since in groups allover the united States, canada, and Mexico. Andy has played with numerous recording artists and made over 600 television appearances. He arrived at silver Dollar City in 1993 and has been entertaining audiences there ever since.

Tom Parkhurst - Vocalist / SaxSax / Tenor Alto / Bari / Soprano, Flute - 54 Years

Tom got his first saxophone in 1949 and hasn't stop playing since!

He has played with so many popular bands it would be impossible to list here. However, what's wrong with a little name dropping? Tom has played with Sha-na-na, Kenny Rogers, Neil Sedaka, Mel Torme, Ray Stevens, Wayne Newton, Ray Price, Guy Lombardo, Tommy Dorsey, and Bobby Vinton.

Keyboards

D'Vaughn began studying piano, drums, soprano saxophone and clarinet at age five and began performing at the Orpheam Theatre in Denver, Colorado during the summer at the age of nine.

If you watched television when television was good, You might have heard D'Vaughn playing on the Ed Sullivan, Milton Berle, Jack Benny and other popular shows.

D'Vaughn became involved in "rock opera" in Hollywood, California, conducting and playing for operas such as "Jesus Christ Superstar", "Hair", "Tommy" and "The Rocky Horror Show." His career turned to television conducting and playing on various television shows like, Dick Van Dyke, Redd Foxx, Cher and more.

After seeing and playing all around the world, D'VAughn moved to Branson, Missouri in 1995 to play for Andy Williams at the Moon River Theatre.

Trumpet / Fluglehorn

Byron started piano lessons at the age of four and performed with the Hays Symphony Orchestra at 13.

Throughout the years, Byron has played with a variety of bands before forming his own group in Kansas. Byron played lead trumpet for the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line for three years and then shared the lead trumpet position with the Glenn Miller Orchestra for seven years on the Bobby Vinton Show in Branson, MO.
